a "real" gift

Okay, I hate to admit this but I'm not good at gifts; giving or receiving. I NEVER know what people like, or what is "appropriate". And I'm always conflicted by a bevy of neurotic insecurities when trying to balance an items meaning, practicality (or impracticality) and monetary value. Add to that some major internal conflict about stuff and wanton consumerism and the seemingly simple act of giving or receiving a present can become paralyzing. Anyways, all quirks aside, every once in a while we are given the perfect gift, no strings attached. This year Zoe's artist friend from Minnesota sent us one of her photographs and we just LOVE it. I've hung it in the living room where we'll live with it every day. Thank YOU Rachel, it's beautiful!
