Symbols

I have these rosaries hanging in my studio window (even though I’m not Catholic, or Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or any other religion). They aren’t symbols of faith for me, I just like them. It amazes me how psychologically infused with cultural baggage a symbol can become. It’s hard to believe that an image, or idea, can be so emotionally charged that individuals fight and kill over it, are comforted by it, and deny love because of it. To me the crucifix represent surrender and vulnerability. What do crosses mean to you????.........comfort, religion, pain, anger, shame, joy, apathy, rapture........??? Remember, it’s all good.
